Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, of lung disease. He was born Jan. 19, 1960, in Lewiston, to Andrew Lawson Sr., and Alberta George Lawyer. Andrew was later fostered by Elsie Frank. He lived in the Lapwai area all his life. He was an enrolled member of the Confederated Colville TribesAndy attended Lapwai High School and graduated in 1978. He supported the Lapwai Wildcats all his life and would attend most of the Wildcat basketball, football, track and volleyball games, both boys and girls.You could usually find him down at Shooters, Alibi, Eagles, Wrangler, Over Time, or Der Litten Haus playing pool, shooting darts, or singing karaoke. He never missed a Mud Springs Celebration. He was there every year that he could remember except this year due to health problems. He would be at his adopted mother, Elsie Frank's camp along with the Johnson boys and girls and Charlie Frank.Andy also enjoyed attending family gatherings, Lewis-Clark State College women's basketball and women's volleyball games. He and Ben Hines had front-row seats.He worked for Grocery Outlet, Aqua Touch Car Wash and Boyer Farms at various times in his life.He was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan! Go Hawks!Andrew is survived by seven siblings: Juanita Lawson of Portland, Ore., Darren Black of Lewiston, Doreen (Jimmy) Smith, Gene Lawyer, Daniel (Jenny) Lawyer, Vesta (Gilbert) Cutfinger, all of Lapwai, and Rosalind McKinsey of Everett, Wash. Although he never married, he is also survived by six children: Louie Moses of Wellpinit, Wash., Summer Prichard (address unknown), Crystal White, Lewiston, Trevor McLaughlin, Keeshia Lawson and Raven Lawson, all of Spokane; and several grandchildren. He is also survived by a longtime companion, Carol Slick. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Lawyer; father Andrew Lawson Sr.; stepfather Eugene Lawyer; sister Gwen Wisdom; brothers Charlie Frank and Lloyd Broncheau; and foster mother Elsie Frank.The dressing will be 3 p.m. today at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home.
